School Magazine Evaluation
After presenting my VIA-FDA school magazine to my teacher, an evaluation was made on it. It was said to be a great magazine overall, so it was critically looked at for bits that needed tweaking here and there. The magazine needed a range of more pictures and variation of shots. Here are some of the original images I used on the magazine, I further photoshopped them and cropped some of them for use on the magazine.
The front cover- had a great title that's big and bold with a good variant of text size, but the head text should appear behind the image rather than over the image. The text indentation was greatly used with a good quality picture, and the magazine also had a good layout and house colours. The text for the main heading could have a bigger size and the subheading could be made to a darker blue colour. The picture used could have however been zoomed in and moved a bit down so that it doesn't obstruct the text-the text on her hands and around her head. The date should have been moved down within the margin of the magazine. The text at the bottom of the page needs a question mark, the font colour could have been lighter so as to stand out from the page and the QR code could have been moved to the contents page. The contents page- the text on the interview of the student could have been next to her picture so that people could easily relate them to each other.
- My magazine develops forms and conventions of a school magazine by being formal presentable, of high quality, relates to the school and talks about the school.
- The front page of my magazine is very effective o focusing on the ethos of the school because the image shows an excellent student who graduated from the school, and all the text typed in relates to the school's excellence and ways in which they could help the community.
- My audience feedback was great, they all seemed to like it, said it was professional, looked of high standards, the magazine had a great layout and design-which is all what I was aiming for.
- For creating my magazine, I used various tools from Photoshop CS6 and sent e-mails & Tweets to people (target audience) who could give me advice and feedback on the magazine before producing the final magazine cover and contents page.
My Final Grade was around a B to an A.
